Fly fishing Raritan Bay, New York, USA on November 17thy 2007, Joan Sharrott of Staten Island, N.Y., landed this striped bass weighing 12.45 kg (27 lb 7 oz). This fish set a new world record by breaking the old record on 20 lb class tippet by over 6 lbs. The fish took a Cowen’s Magnum Baitfish (bunker color). This is the 2nd world record striped bass to be caught on this fly pattern.
