Henry Cowen is certainly one of the most knowledgeable and enthusiastic fly and light tackle fishermen I've ever met. Each day with Henry is a fishing lesson/tutorial/adventure and always a pleasure. We've tackled rainbows, browns, spotted bass, crappie and his specialty “stripers”. Every time we've been on the pond, lake, ocean or stream, I've learned to be a better angler.
I have spent a bunch of days on Lanier with Henry and each time we have caught stripers on the fly (fly rod that is). Henry is a northern transplant but he was an awfully nice fellow before he got here. If you want to spend a day with a man who fishes almost every day and can teach you the necessary techniques for catching stripers with a fly, then Henry is your man. I caught my personnel record (12 lb fly caught striper) with Henry. It was a blast! He always knows where they live.
